ORIGIN: pine is spread in Europe and Siberia.

PROPERTIES: pine wood is solid, with the kernel, it contains much wood resin.  Year rings are well seen, fibers are mainly straight, texture is medium coarse. Wood density and its mechanical peculiarities that are important for building industry depend on some factors, particularly soil humidity. So, pine which grows in the dry soil, possesses more solid and resistant to damages wood. And on the contrary, the tree that has grown in rather wet soil is characterized by the wood with low mechanical properties.

USE: pine veneer is used for the production of furniture, doors, parquet, as well as in vessel and carriage building. Port structures, dams and berths are also done of it.
